I can't say enough about how wonderful Shanna's Cove is. The minute we arrived, Gregor and Maria met us at our car and I knew from that moment we were in good hands. Such lovely people! They both went out of their way during the week to help us with anything we needed. The bungalow was very roomy, bigger than a typical hotel room. We loved having the fridge in the room as well as the open shower. Sitting out on our veranda for coffee each morning was such a lovely start to the days. The view was indescribable and we were kept company by beautiful birds and lizards. We have traveled to beaches all over the world and Shanna's Cove is right up there at the top. The white sand seems to go on forever and you can walk several miles without seeing another human. Our hosts provided kayaks so it was easy to travel to a cove or two over from Shanna's for even more alone time on the beautiful white sands and the crystal blue waters. We really enjoyed the hike to ManOWar Beach as well. There were many species of plants and birds that were new to my identifications on my Seek app. I'm a nature nerd so this was one of the best parts of exploring for me. The evenings were much fun. Gregor served as host and bartender to all of the guests (usually 6-8 total) as we met at the bar each evening prior to dinner. It was such a wonderful way to get to know the owners and other guests and have a lot of laughs. If you love wine, this is the place to be. They are both extremely knowledgeable about fine wines. Maria's cooking.... I have no words adequate. Dinner each night was 3 courses of the most delicious foods. There is no such thing as a bad meal from Maria. She truly has a gift for the presentation of our meals each night with many creative combinations of ingredients. Her passion for preparing something special each night was evident. I am usually ready to go home at the end of vacation, but not this one. Gregor and Maria, as well as the guests there during our week, made us feel that we were home with the most incredible friends. I cannot wait to come back!
